Communities and Conversations: Dell's Bob Pearson

Bob Pearson, VP of Communities and Conversations, recently talked with Forrester's Jeremiah Owyang on social media at Dell:

Echoing Andy Lark's comments in an August 2008 interview, Bob spoke to the strategic importance of social media at Dell: "Social media is becoming part of who we are." Feedback received through Dell's IdeaStorm community site has influenced product development at Dell and the company has sold close to $1 million of refurbished computers through Dell Outlet on Twitter.

On the future of social media at Dell, Bob said, "we are going to frame it inside Dell. 'How does social media revolutionize the business infrastructure of a company?' That's what you're going to hear a lot more about from us in 2009."

Be sure to check Bob's new "TechKnowledge" series of interviews with technology leaders on the Direct2Dell blog and follow him on Twitter.
